Pretty Clever is a tiny design studio and wee print shop located in Chicago’s Logan Square Neighborhood.
Pretty Clever is actually just one fella … and a cat. My formal education is in print & 2D design, though my 8 years professional experience since has focused primarily on Web, interactive, and UX work. I started Pretty Clever as an attempt to get back into the print/2D/illustration work which my professional career route had distanced me from – to rediscover the work I felt more passionate about, while continuing to do the work I had practiced and honed for nearly a decade. The work created through Pretty Clever has been about finding and maintaining a balance between the creative and the technical – the finely crafted and the finely programmed – to try to keep things fresh, and not get burned out on providing only one type of service.
My focus is on delivering appropriate solutions to complex problems – to simplify the complicated and add dimension to the simple.
Pretty Clever is a small shop, but packed with talent, know-how, experience, and verve – capable of tackling design challenges of any size, from Mom-and-Pops’ needs to larger agency projects. My services range from web design and development, to corporate identity and branding – and everything in between. My main goal with Pretty Clever is to keep things fresh, to not allow my work to grow mundane or become burdensome – to maintain passion for the work I create and creative process.
